Thanks Heather and Kirsten wishing me well during my tossing, turning and complaining.

Seems like it was synchronized migration to our respective clinics as I saw on Sarah's and Kirsten's blogs- we all had our Dr.s appointments today. All is well on my end- here is a pic of baby's face and Tomoya checking baby's heartbeat. A new friend in Yamagata told me when we met up about her cutting her daughter's umbilical cord herself- I didn't realize that this was an option. I mentioned it to my relaxed Doc and he was like "of course you can, hey all of you (Masa, Tomo and Reo) can all place our hands on the scissors if we like and cut". This man rocks- I threw a bunch of questions at him and this man is so flexible. My last appointment he popped Reo on the examining table with me and let him check the heart beat, this time we did a comparison by listening to Tomo's and baby's heart and he explained to Tomo why his was slower.

He introduced us to the midwife who will likely be with us during birth and she happens to be his wife :) She is BEAUTIFUL- I shouldn't be shocked that our goofy Doc's wife is this lovely, elegant woman but she is. She leaned over and said reassuringly and with a gentle smile that life with 3 little boys will be lively and that she has 2 boys herself. Doc was embarrassed when I gushed about his wife. Anyhow, loving the warm family vibes in the clinic- Doc's brother will be administrating the epidural if I choose it.

So, despite the lack of sleep, it ended up being a nice enough day and relaxed because aside from a quick stop at the library on our way back from the clinic we spent the day at home.

Last but definently not least: Good-luck to my dear friend Kirsten who will be holding her baby in her arms within the next 7 days. Even though there is the big distance and we already have a couple of children each- there is a quiet extra thread that has been added to our friendship. Another connection between us by going through our 3rd child's pregnancy together yet apart. I love you dear friend and am looking forward to your birth announcement.

Wow, what a hospital. And you said you don't want any more after this one? What a waste of a great clinic find! ;P

I really think you and your clinic are providing an amazing learning opportunity for the boys and such a welcoming environment right from pregnancy checkups surely bodes well for a smooth and stressfree birth.

Fingers crossed tonight you're already asleep!

Lil, thanks so much. It has been special sharing these pregnancies. I think of you often as I feel baby C move about and as I prepare for labour. In a few weeks you and I can skype during the wee hours (either late at night for you and early morning for me or the opposite!)

Thinking of you often too, and wishing you the best of births!

Wow your clinic indeed sounds awesome. I really like the clinic I have found too, but not so close to birth yet so not sure exactly what all their policies are.

That is cool that you can all cut the umbilical cord. What an experience!

Hopefully your last couple of weeks go well! Good luck!

Thats it - I am so so so so so commuting to your clinic next time. Wish I would have known we were moving to Nagaoka so early and I would have gone there from the start... Oh well :(

your babies face is cute!! my stupid dr. gives me the same darn picture every time back of the neck and stomach... poor BG I've saved all her echo pictures but was so bored with the ones the last few months that i threw the recent ones out!!!

hoping we can meet up on Friday - if not at Nagaoka Stn. My clinic DOES allow visitors so if I do have the baby by Friday (omg how scary is it to type that out) you are welcome to come and visit or any other day if it is more convenient for you...

I will keep you updated on happenings here!!!!!

Take care :D

Wow ... sounds like a great clinic and doctor -- especially the part where an epidural is an option!! I'm all for natural births, but personally, I'd like to know that there is that option should I chicken out and want the pain to stop already :P I should get the clinic's name from you :) .. anyway, see you tomorrow!

Wow! That's probably the best US pic I've ever seen! You can see the baby's face so clearly! I think he looks like Reo!

What a great clinic you've got! It really makes such a huge difference in the whole pregnancy!

I'm so glad you and Sara were able to meet up, she needed a friend so badly!

Hoping this last bit of your pregnancy goes smoothly!

You've been very busy on the blog! Great - I love reading it. What a blessing in disguise to have had the hassle of finding a clinic that would accept you. And triple points for Masa's company for a. promoting him and b.) sending you all up to Nigata where you could have such a bonding experience with good friends around you too.
I second Baby Yamashita looking like Reo.

If you keep pestering your doctor he might relent on the tubes being tied (have a chat to his wife ;) )

May there be sweet dreams all round in the Yamashita household tonight :)
